Dermal cylindroma is a skin lesion classically seen on the scalp. It is usually benign. It should not be confused with cylindroma ( adenoid cystic carcinoma ).

Types include: Dermal eccrine cylindroma, a benign tumour of the skin; Adenoid cystic carcinoma, a malignant tumour of the salivary gland Abstract Background. Malignant cutaneous cylindroma is a rare tumor. It has been described in 26 cases, both in the solitary form and in the autosomal dominant inherited multiple tumor form.

Immunohistochemically the tumor nests are express CK7 and 8 positivity, with EMA and CEA positivity in the accompanying duct structures. Tumor is CK20, GCDFP-15, ER and PR negative.
